OFFICE ACCESS CONTROL

The following Office Access Control Guidelines have been developed to append to your existing Office Access Control Policy (if any) in preparation for an influenza pandemic, or any future epidemic or pandemic illness which threatens the health of staff.
If you do not have any office access control policies then these should be used as stand-alone policies for use during the pandemic.
These policies are designed to protect staff inside the office and to do all possible to exclude unwitting infected staff/visitors from bringing the virus into the office.
These guidelines will also serve to educate staff to protect themselves and their colleagues and will allow the Company to maintain as much as possible a 'sterile office environment' for all persons inside.
It should be the company's objective such that during the the pandemic, the office is in a state of readiness that arguably would be the safest place for staff to be outside of the home.
The formation and implementation of these guidelines is not only expected of a responsible employer and staff, it is also the duty under local workplace health and safety regulations and successful implementation needs the full cooperation of all persons throughout the organisation.
The Office Access Control Policy Guidelines should be put into effect in accordance with the corresponding Company Pandemic Alert Phase.
More details on the increasing pandemic response alert status your company should adopt (ie. yellow, orange and red) can be found in the Pandemic Response Phases section of the manual.
To see our Pandemic Response Phases section, simply subscribe, then access it from the restricted Bird Flu Manual Online "Contents Page". Subscription is free.
